UNB Art for PUblic Spaces Competition

University of New Brunswick  Art for New Spaces Competition 2010

Artist Selection to be announced soon! June 1st!

The Art for New Spaces Acquisition Fund was set up to purchase or commission works of art for newly constructed or renovated outdoor or indoor spaces frequented by students. The University of New Brunswick has appointed a committee to oversee the administration of the fund and the process by which the artworks will be acquired for the University.

The Committee has up to $20,000 per year to allocate for such works.

For 2010 the C. C. Jones Student Services Centre on the UNB Fredericton campus has been chosen as the site for the installation of the major artwork. The artwork acquired through the Art for New Spaces Acquisition Fund will be registered in the University’s Permanent Collection.

Artwork acquired through the Art for New Spaces Acquisition Fund will be so identified through appropriate signage on or beside the work. 2010 Competition The competition is open to all professional artists who reside in the Province of New Brunswick. For the purpose of this competition, a “professional artist” is defined according to the criteria outlined by artsNB – www.artsnb.ca/pdf/DESC_CR_E.pdf
