(Saint John, NB)  Kathy Hamer, President of ArtsLink NB, is pleased to announce the appointment of Sara Griffin as ArtsLink NB’s next Executive Director, succeeding Sandy Mackay, former ED.  A native of Grand Manan, Sara received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in Halifax, as well as a Bachelor of Education from the University of New Brunswick. She has traveled extensively, including to Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan, where she taught English for a number of years. Recent projects of Sara include serving as the Studio Manager and painter for UNB’s historical re-animation of Fred Ross’s 1948 War Memorial Mural, and as the Program Coordinator for the Creative Essentials National Conference hosted by the Canadian Society for Education Through Art.  Sara is also an artist in her own right, and she maintains a studio practice in Saint John.

“It is our goal to create a community culture here in New Brunswick, where the arts are seen as an essential element in our society and economy, and where they are treated with value and respect. I am thrilled to join the ArtsLink NB organization, and am deeply interested in bringing the provincial arts community closer together by collaborating with both Anglophone and francophone sectors,” says Sara Griffin.
